Pastor Jane talks about her life in comedy which lead to a life in Christ - from stand-up comedian to leading Palm Springs' inclusive United Methodist Church congregation. She reflects on laughter's power within spirituality. Jane is currently writing a book about the Bible as a comedy.

Meet Our Guest
Jane Voigts has been the Pastor at United Methodist Church of Palm Springs since July of 2018. Her church responsibilities are the following, but not limited to: leading worship, preaching, teaching, overseeing administration, casting vision, caring for the flock, exploring new connections with the greater community and offering an occasional cartwheel when helpful.
Jane received her BA from Indiana University, her DMin from the Claremont School of Theology in 1996, and has served churches in Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, and Appleton, WI. She was previously a legal secretary and professional comedian in Chicago and LA. Her favorite piece of scripture is John 15:11 – “Jesus said, ‘I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.’” Her favorite movie is “It’s a Wonderful Life”. And the one thing she most enjoys about serving in the church? Making church fun.
